South Pacific - Terrace Unit

South Pacific - Terrace Unit

Truly a tall set. The Terrace Unit you are looking at stands 32' and is 34' wide and designed to fly on one pipe. The unit utilizes six pick-up points, all with Crosby® brand rated hardware. Above all else, safety is our foremost concern.
Presented by Gargaro Productions at the Byham Theatre, Pittsburgh, PA.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

The set was completely built anew in our shop in about two weeks. Please note the stage-left unit. The walls consist of ten 4'x10' hollywood style flats, stacked in pairs. The entire unit was assembled on the ground then "walked up" in one piece.
Presented by Apple Hill Playhouse at the Palace Theatre, Greensburg, PA.

Stage Left Rear - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Now that you have seen Joseph from the front, here's the back. This is the stage left unit. Each 4' x 10' flat has five toggles with aluminum wind bracing used as a stiffener up the center - an innovation borrowed from the construction industry. This construction method provides strength and durability. Not only have flats constructed like this "survived" multiple productions, but in the case of Joseph, the only bracing added on-site are the six 2" x 4"'s used to keep the unit square while it was walked-up. You will also note that each unit is labeled as to the owner (the orange stickers in this case, glued to the flat), and its location for the specific production (the white labels taped to the flat). After safety, quality is our most important concern.

Stage Right Rear - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Stage Right Rear - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

This is the rear of the stage right unit of Joseph. You'll notice the lower flats right above the text here are slightly different. Here we run four stiles with wind bracing used as stiffener toggles. The long-term application of a flat influences the construction method. The lower flats are Cenlyt stock and designed to fly.

Grand Stair Case

Grand Stair Case

In addition to safety and quality, we provide flexibility The "Grand Stair Case" is modular. While its overall height is 7', it can be separated at any step, in six inch rises, without compromising structural integrity.
